Motivation

When I started studying Communication and Multimedia Design at the University of Applied Science, I always felt the hunger to design and make things look good. This was until I learned programming in the second year of my study. Here I learned HTML and Javascript, a dilemma immediately arose. I struggled with what I liked most, was it Designing or Developing? After thinking a lot about it, I chose the path of the Developer. So in my last 2 years, I prefer the class front-end for designers. Here I learned to design and code at the same time. This experience was the best feeling ever, to combine the 2 things I love the most into one.

This is where I moved forward to the 3rd year. Here I followed the class Emerging Technologies. This is the point where I came in touch with Unity Engine. With Unity Engine, I can combine the two skills I like the most Designing and Developing. In this class, I had made my first Virtual Reality experience. This was a hard but learning full experience because it was a whole new language I had to learn. But at this point, I knew that I wanted to keep making experiences for Virtual Reality.

That's why after my minor in Game Design, I immediately started looking for a company that focuses on Virtual Reality games and experiences. Eventually, I found WeMakeVR for my final internship.

About WeMakeVR

WeMakeVR originally started to make 360° videos for virtual reality. Now they are shifting more and more towards interactive-based experiences. There next big step is making interactive experiences for Virtual Reality.
